The third (18M) progress, annex Mid Term meeting of the NIOPLEX project took place on 20 and 21 April 2015 at the Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel in Southampton, kindly hosted by Bharath Ganapathisubramani, Roeland de Kat and Angeliki Laskari of the University of Southampton.
The meeting was attended by 21 participants, with representatives from all consortium partners. Andreas Schroder (DLR), Fabrizio De Gregorio (CIRA) and Louis Souverein (Airbus DS) attended as members of the Advisory Board. They also acted in the capacity of external reviewers, for reporting back to the EU officer (Dietrich Knoerzer), who himself could not attend.
Presentations were given on the status of the project as a whole, the management and the different work packages, followed by those on the work of the individual partners.
As invited guest, Fulvio Scarano presented recent work on large-scale PIV based on the helium-filled soap bubble technique.
The reviewers provided feedback on the project activities and after closure of the meeting the experimental facilities at the University could be visited.
